The Rules You Need to Know Before Playing 7-Game

Because 7 game poker is a mix of seven games, keeping up with the rules may prove tricky for novice players. Each game in the 7 game mix is played 10 times before moving on to the next game. The rules for each individual game will govern that "rotation" of the game when playing this exciting new version of mixed poker. Before you can be a successful mixed poker player, knowing the rules for the individual games is important. In case you've gotten a bit rusty, let's run down some of the most important rules to remember about the games in HEROSHA.

Fixed Limit Holdem Rules

First on the lineup in the 7 game mix is fixed limit holdem. Basic rules for this game: Each player is dealt their hole cards (pocket cards) face down. A betting round commences. Players may call, check, raise, or choose to fold their hands. Fixed limit holdem betting is set in advance – which means that if you are playing on a $5/$10 table, that the maximum bet for rounds one and two is $5 while the final two rounds are played at the $10. Raises are the same as bets – the maximum raises are $5/rounds one and two and $10/rounds three and four in this example. The small blind (in our example) bets $5 and the big blind bets $10.

Fixed Limit Seven Card Stud Hi/Lo Rules

Fixed limit seven card stud hi/lo in the seven game poker mix is played with five betting rounds plus an ante. Initially, players are dealt two cards that are facedown, four cards that are face up, and a river card that is facedown. Players must ante up before receiving their initial three cards. The rules in a nutshell: Players strive to make the best hand of five cards possible using two pocket cards and three cards from the community spread. Each player is dealt four pocket cards. Betting is determined by whoever has the button. Players to the left of the dealer button are the small blind and the big blind, in that order. The player immediately after the big blind is the first to take betting action before the flop.

Fixed Limit Seven Card Stud Rules

Second in popularity only behind Texas Holdem, fixed limit seven card stud is beloved worldwide – which is likely why it's included in the 7 game poker mix. The rules of FL seven card stud are. Four face up and three face down cards are dealt in fixed limit seven card stud. Standard poker rules apply when making the best five card hand possible. There are five rounds or streets of betting in the game.

No Limit Texas Holdem Rules

Texas Holdem has quite a number of fans, although no limit Texas Holdem is played less than pot limit or limit holdem. Texas Holdem no limit plays out like Texas Holdem – except for the fact that there's no limit on bets. Each player receives two pocket cards initially, and then five cards are dealt into the middle of the table to form the community cards.There are two blinds, small and big, in the game. In pot limit Omaha, the rules are pretty much cut and dry. You should know these rules inside and out before playing 7 game poker. Players must use two cards from their hand and three cards from the community spread to make an Omaha hand. The game uses a small and big blind – and these players make bets before cards are dealt to form the pot. Players who run out of chips before the end of the game are called "all in" and the pot is then separated to form a side pot – which this player has no interest in.
